Utica, N.Y. - Former Notre Dame girls basketball standout, Emily Durr, has been hired as the head coach of the MVCC women's basketball team, announced Wednesday.

Durr joins the Hawks after spending one year on the bench, returning to the Jugglers girls basketball team, as an assistant coach.

The 6'0" Utica native is a Notre Dame grad who lead the Jugglers to a state championship in 2014, and finished her high school career as Section III's all-time leading scorer with 2,445 points.

Following high school, she played four years of Division-I basketball at Iowa State, where she averaged 7.9 points per game, 1.8 assists per game, and 2.4 rebounds per game, in 21.8 average minutes per game.

MVCC did not have team last year after self-reporting NJCAA financial violations in February of 2018, but they will start back up in the fall for the 2019-20 season.
