NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. – An employee at the Walgreens on Commercial Drive in New Hartford has tested positive for coronavirus, according to Director of the Oneida County Health Department Phyllis Ellis.
This employee has not worked at the store since April 2.
The employee was wearing a face mask and gloves, and the store had installed shields, so Ellis says there was “very low risk to the general public.”
According to Ellis, this could have potentially affected anyone who went to the pharmacy at the store from March 31 – April 2. Since the two-week quarantine period has passed, Ellis says anyone still experiencing symptoms should contact their health care provider to see if they should get tested.
Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente announced 12 new cases of coronavirus on Monday, bringing the total number of positive cases to 212.
