UTICA, N.Y. -- Several St. Elizabeth Medical Center employees reached out to NewsChannel 2 saying they were missing pay from Mohawk Valley Health System.
They received an email and a payroll recording saying that there was a banking issue with direct deposits, and that it was being investigated. The recording said:
“Hi, this is the payroll department. We are unable to come to the phone right now. We are working currently on finding out the issue with the direct deposit. Please be patient. We are working to contact the bank, but they do not open until 9 a.m. We will reach out to you when we can figure this out. Thank you.”
The same message was still being played when WKTV reached out to payroll early Thursday afternoon.
Payroll officials say the issue has been resolved and employees should see direct deposit Thursday night or Friday. But for some, the damage has already been done. Bills weren't paid or overdraft fees were issued.
MVHS refused on-camera interviews.
Employees claim this is the second time they've had an issue with their direct deposits.
