UTICA, N.Y.--It's not just schools that are closing ahead of Wednesday's predicted snow storm.

The Feed Our Vets food pantry announced it will be closed Feb. 7.

Pantry founder Richard Synek said he wants to protect both the veterans and volunteers from getting into accidents.
If there are any veterans who need food and cannot wait until Feb. 14 for supplies, they can call to make a special appointment to shop.

"They can actually call the pantry director, set up a proper date and time where they can come down, and we'll take care of them," Synek said. "We're always on call for people that can't make it when the pantries can't open, so that's a good thing."

The pantry director can be reached at (315)982-0698.
