FAIRFIELD- A Middleville Firefighters home is a total loss after fire early Sunday morning.

The home is located in Fairfield.

Chief David Mueller for the Middleville Fire Department says they got the call around 1:30 a.m. and the house was completely engulfed in flames.

Mueller says no one was home at the time, but the firefighter who lived there was on his way home when he got the call that his home was on fire.

He says he believes it was an electrical fire, but that's still under investigation.

Mueller said the high winds made it difficult to put the fire out. "The winds are very prominent up here and that helped fuel the fire and that pushed it right along and despite everybody's efforts it was a total loss."
