UTICA, N.Y. - Fire crews battled a basement fire on the corner of Howard Ave. and Eagle St. in Utica Thursday night.
The call came in just before 9 p.m.
Smoke was still billowing out of the structure when our crews arrived on scene.
According to Utica Fire Chief, Scott Ingersoll, no one was injured.
Ingersoll says he believes the fire could have been started on purpose. He says the home is vacant and they are still trying to locate the property owner.
