FAIRFIELD N.Y.- A garage and pickup truck were destroyed Sunday night following a fire.
The call came in just after 8:30 p.m. Sunday night at 120 Academy Walk Road in Fairfield.
Middleville, Newport, and Salisbury fire departments responded to find the garage on fire.
The family was home at the time, and will be able to stay in their home after fire crews put out the fire before it could severely damage the house.
"We were able to stop the fire at the house portion thanks to all the quick work of all the local responders," said Middleville Fire Chief David Mueller. "It had a working outdoor woodboiler to start the heat for the house." Mueller added.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, although the woodboiler is a possible cause, according to the fire chief.
No injuries were reported.
