Fire in Downtown Utica Shuts Down Genesee Street

Crews were called around 9:15 Thursday night to 294 Genesee Street

UTICA, N.Y.-The Utica Fire Department responded to a fire in Downtown Utica that shut down a portion of Genesee Street for a while Thursday night.

The call came in around 9:15 pm.

Firefighters say a porch in the back of a vacant structure caught fire.

Genesee Street was shut down between South Street and Dakin Street.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
