There were two separate fires that broke out on Wednesday in Lewis County.
The first one happening on Highmarket Road of the town of Constableville.
Flames sparked in a garage and a barn at the residence.
The owner first discovered his garage on fire, and wind-driven sparks then ignited the barn right next to it.
The garage was completely destroyed. The barn roof was destroyed as well as some second story damage.
Officials say some cattle did not make it out of the fire.
Firefighters say if it were not for the leftover snow on the ground, the situation could have been much worse.
The second fire happening on Crestview Drive in Lowville, which was also a garage fire.
A neighbor noticed smoke coming from the back of a garage.
The garage is a total loss, and it originated by an outdoor water boiler.
