Oriskany, N.Y. - A brand new event was held at the CrossFit Exagora gym in Oriskany on Saturday to remember three local men who lost their lives while trying to protect others.  It's called 'CLW Gone but Not Forgotten' to remember C, L and W, which stand for Corr, Lindsey and Wyman.

New Hartford Police Officer Joseph Corr was shot and killed during a pursuit following a jewelry store robbery in 2006, Utica Police officer Thomas Lindsey was killed during a traffic stop in Utica in 2007, and Oneida County Sheriff's Deputy Kurt Wyman was killed during a standoff in Augusta in 2011. All three were remembered during a brief ceremony on Saturday followed by an intense regimen of physical activity at CrossFit Exagora on Judd Rd. in Oriskany, which is very close to the Oneida County Sheriff's Department.

A number of members of law enforcement work out at the gym, including Sgt. Toby Lindfield with the Oneida County Sheriff’s Dept..

Lindfield, who was one of Oneida County Sheriff's Deputy Kurt Wyman's closest friends, came up with the idea of the 'CLW Gone but Not Forgotten' event to not only remember Wyman, Lindsey and Corr, but to raise money for their respective foundations which provide help in so many ways to so many members of our community, "We started the Academy together, I worked side-by-side with him for about six years, so that’s what we want to do today, bring people together, raise money for their foundations, and have fun."

Those who participated in a variety of events designed to get them even more fit than the already are, and even some spectators who didn't participate, donated money to help the cause.

Brian Wyman, Deputy Kurt Wyman's father, was in attendance Saturday and says this event is truly special as it remembers all three young men who gave the ultimate sacrifice, "It’s special, you know the guys that put this on are first class and for the first annual, this is a fantastic day.  I look forward to more years to come."

Future events will mean even more money raised for the foundations of C,L and W, Corr, Lindsey and Wyman, gone, but definitely not forgotten.
