WKTV - Heavy rain could hit parts of our viewing area on Sunday evening into the early morning hours of Monday. The rain will most likely make an impact on Otsego County and possibly Oneida County. Due to the possibility, The National Weather Service of Binghamton has already issued a flash flood watch in effect 6 a.m. Sunday until 2 p.m. Monday for Otsego County.
The center of Hurricane Henri is expected to hit just east of our area. River flooding is possible, especially now since we have had problems with flooding this past week. More rainfall over a period of time can trigger the already flooded rivers to flood once again.
At this point in time, Saturday evening, the confidence of Hurricane Henri is very low. A lot of the models are not matching up for Henri's tracks as well as where the heaviest rain will fall.
The takeaway would be to keep an eye on the sky and make sure to tune in to WKTV at 6PM tomorrow night where we will have the latest updates on the tracking and rainfall of the storm.
