BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- Former Broome County District Attorney Steve Cornwell is now running for family court judge after previously throwing his name in the hat for Congress.
“I’ve spent my entire career protecting children and fighting for families,” said Cornwell. “At this time, I can best serve our community as the next Family Court Judge.”
Cornwell suspended his campaign for Congress, where he would have run in the Republican primary against Claudia Tenney, Franklin Sager and George Phillips, for the 22nd Congressional District seat.
“The politicians in Washington can fight over who will serve in Congress – I’ve never been a politician -- and my focus will remain on the children and families in Broome County,” he said.
The election for family court judge is November 3, 2020.
