SYRACUSE – The former employee who dumped water on a man who was resting in a Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant in Syracuse will have to do community service, according to CNYCentral.
The Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office tells CNYCentral that the former employee, Shakeen Robbins, will not face criminal charges, and he will perform 75 hours of community service at an agency that helps the homeless population in Syracuse.
A video being shared around social media earlier this week showed Robbins dumping a pitcher of water on Jeremy Dufresne, who was reportedly resting at a table while he charged his phone so that he could call his mother. In the video, Robbins talks to Dufresne about sleeping in the restaurant, while the employee recording the video laughs.
On Tuesday, Dunkin’ Donuts announced they had fired the two employees.
The DA’s office said the only charge that could’ve been filed against the employees was harassment, which would’ve been the equivalent of a traffic ticket. Dufresne was part of the decision making process to have Robbins perform community service.
