SYRACUSE, N.Y. – A former border patrol agent from Oswego was sentenced Wednesday to six years and eight months in prison for distributing, receiving and possessing child pornography.
Keith E. Hook, 55, pleaded guilty to using the app Kik on his iPod to send and receive images of child porn. The investigation uncovered that Hook used a WiFi connection at his home and while on duty at the Oswego port of entry to exchange images between January and July of 2018.
After a forensic analysis of the iPod, authorities found 138 photos and four videos of minors engaged in sexual activities.
Hook also had 10 video files and more than 200 images saved to his iCloud, and three more images on his laptop.
According to the Department of Justice, the images and videos included rape and sodomy of young children and toddlers.
Hook will also be under supervision for 10 years after he is released and owe $9,000 in restitution to the victims.
As a result of his conviction, Hook will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison.
