FRANKFORT, NY - The Frankfort Kiwanis club is 90 years old.

They celebrated Tuesday at the St. Francis Club in Frankfort, as members of area Kiwanis clubs gathered for a divisional meeting.

The Frankfort Kiwanis donates thousands of dollars annually to charitable causes in Herkimer County that assist children.

New York District Governor Candace Corsaro, who was also in attendance, says this is no small accomplishment

"Kiwanis was established in 1915 by 5 gentlemen in Detroit. To have a club sustain 90 years of volunteerism for the children and the community is outstanding."

The Frankfort Kiwanis club plans on holding a gala event in May to commemorate their 90th anniversary.
