COLUMBUS, OHIO -- The Colgate men's basketball team is now in Columbus, Ohio, where they will continue to get ready to take on Tennessee in their first round game Friday.
From one small town to a big city – Colgate left Hamilton Thursday afternoon arriving in Columbus around 5:30 p.m.
It’s been a historic season already for the Raiders – and after punching their ticket to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1996 – Colgate enters this matchup with a "why stop here" and a “why not us” mentality.
The 15th seeded raiders will battle No. 2 seed Tennessee – Colgate looking for their first tournament win in program history.
The Raiders rested Wednesday night after a short flight – they’ll hit the floor around 11:45 a.m. at Nationwide Arena for an open practice, then Head Coach Matt Langel will speak on how the team is feeling ahead of their big showdown against the Volunteers.
Coach Langel is excited the game is on Friday giving the team extra time to prepare.
There should be a sea of red on Friday – with more than 200 Colgate fans in the seats.
