The last two days in Central New York have felt more like winter than spring in Central New York. Widespread rain and snow yesterday turned to lake effect snow overnight. Widespread snow showers continued today. The higher elevations picked up 2-4" of accumulation, with just a coating of snow for most of the lower elevations. High temperatures at Griffiss in Rome have only ranged between 35-40 degrees. With the wind, it's felt much colder than that.
Our weather will dramatically warm up over the next 7 days. After a frosty start to Friday, the sun returns, bringing temperatures back into the upper 50s. Breezy weather looks to continue throughout the day, but that breeze is going to help push out the cold air. Warmer weather on Saturday, with highs in the low 60s. Widespread rain returns on Sunday.
Another surge of warm arrives next week. A warm front arrives on Tuesday, bringing temperatures to the low 70s. It's going to feel more like summer for Wednesday and Thursday, with high temperatures near 80!
