Funeral arrangements have been made for New York State Police Investigator Michael Petrie.

Investigator Petrie of Little Falls died Jan. 24 at Little Falls Hospital following a five-month battle with cancer. He was 45 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30 at the Holy Family Parish Church at the corner of Main and John streets in Little Falls.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 3-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29 at the Holy Family Parish Church.

Petrie began his law enforcement career with the City of Little Falls Police Department in 1998 when he was hired as a dispatcher, according to the department. He was hired as a police officer in 1999, and he began working with the New York State Police in 2002.

Petrie was promoted to investigator in 2016. He was stationed with Troop D in Marcy.

"Mike will be sorely missed as he was a kind, giving, warm hearted person who was beloved by not only the law enforcement community but also by everyone he came into contact with," the Little Falls Police Department said on their Facebook page. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Petrie and Mckeon family for above all, he was a devoted family man.

According to the Little Falls police chief, there will be restricted parking for the general public in Little Falls on Monday and Tuesday for Investigator Michael Petrie’s calling hours and funeral.

There will be signs up notifying people that parking on Main Street, and on John Street from South William Street to Main Street, is for funeral attendees only.

On Main Street there will only be one-way traffic (east to west) from Ward Street to Waverly Place during the calling hours and funeral. State police will be at the intersections in that area to help direct traffic.
