Utica, N.Y. - It's a big night for area professional wrestling fans as the WWE Live Summerslam Heatwave tour comes to the Adirondack Bank Center at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.
This is actually the second time the WWE is coming to Utica this year and Adirondack bank Center General Manager Rick Redman says not too many cities can say that, "WWE was here at the end of March, so just over three months ago, and it’s a big deal for the fans here locally."
Redman says there's a reason why this sport has been around for decades and continues to draw in a loyal fan base, "It's been around for a long time and people just love it."
The Adirondack Bank Center at the Utica Memorial Auditorium has its share of boisterous fans throughout the year, but Redman says the professional wrestling crowd may be in a league all their own, "It gets pretty rowdy. They follow the wrestlers, they follow the tag teams and they’re really into it. The ladies are wrestling, we had them in March and we'll have them again here tonight and they have a huge following also."
Redman says he's ready for a loud and rather large crowd, a mix of both young and older fans, and he says the good news for fans, there are still some tickets left, "There are tickets open at most of the levels. Some of the lower seats are all sold out but there are tickets available."
You can purchase tickets online at empirestatetix.com, or in person at the Adirondack Bank Center Box Office.
