UTICA, N.Y. -- A hazardous materials survey is underway in the footprint of the new downtown Utica hospital.
Atlantic Testing is the engineering firm working on the state environmental quality review.
Testing at the various properties, in the footprint, will take four or five weeks.
The survey will determine if there is any hazardous material on site.
If needed, an abatement process would start to remove the HAZMAT before demolition.
