NEW HARTFORD - The world-famous Harlem Globetrotters are coming back to Utica as part of their new fan-powered world tour.
The Globetrotters will be making their way to the Adirondack Bank Center on next week. NewsChannel 2’s Alicia Daddario got a chance to catch up with one of the players as he visited a local elementary school.
“It’s gotta be the kids’ faces when you’re sitting there in the stands. Not just the kids but seeing somebody 10-years-old, 30, 70-years-old - and everybody has the same smile on their face just love bringing that joy to people,” said ‘Zeus’, a member of the Globetrotters touring team.
“You’re gonna see a lot of high-flying slam dunks, you’re gonna see half court trick shots like you saw today, and crowd participation that’s unrivaled in sports. We'll even come up into the stands, we might bring you guys down spin the ball on your finger, we might eat your concessions ‘cause we get hungry during the game. But you know you’re gonna have a great time. This year's our 2019 fan-powered world tour, so were looking to involve the fans more than ever this year and get very interactive with you guys.”
The Globetrotters visit the Adirondack Bank Center at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 7. Click here for ticket information.
