HERKIMER, N.Y. -- Some Herkimer-Fulton-Hamilton-Otsego BOCES students are moving to virtual instruction until Nov. 27, after two more staff members received positive coronavirus test results.
This applies to students in special program classes at the William E. Busacker Complex.
According to District Superintendent Sandra Sherwood, BOCES was notified Thursday about the two cases. Two other staff members had also tested positive earlier this month.
“The staff members were last at work on Friday, Nov. 13, so the 14-day quarantine period is anticipated to end on Friday, Nov. 27, during Thanksgiving recess,” said Sherwood, in an announcement posted Thursday.
Students are expected to return to normal schedules on Monday, Nov. 30.
The health department will directly contact affected individuals through contact tracing.
Any students or parents with questions can call the BOCES district office at 315-867-2023.
