HERKIMER, N.Y. – The Herkimer County Hunger Coalition has set up its own website to make information about its programs more accessible.
"The website will let the public know that when we began 20 years ago, the county pantries were distributing 56,000 meals to the clients. Beginning in 2007 all the way through to 2019, our pantries have been distributing nearly half a million," said Ray Lenarcic, director of the coalition.
Along with helping provide meals to those in need, the coalition also has initiatives that provide Christmas gifts and school supplies to children in the area. They even have a fire prevention program.
