OLD FORGE, N.Y. (UPDATED) – Officials at Enchanted Forest Water Safari have confirmed five employees have tested positive for COVID-19, after Herkimer County Health Department said it was investigating cases stemming from the park.
Water Safari Vice President and Director of Marketing Katie Wojdyla says of the workers, "all of them were immediately isolated by the Department of Health and were never inside the park."
County health officials are working with the state health department on contact tracing. The county has yet to determine how many people are affected, and have not released specific dates or case numbers.
"Since reopening our outdoor water park in June, we have been following all CDC guidelines to keep our guests and team members safe," said Wojdyla. "As a reminder, all guests and team members who are not vaccinated are required to wear a mask except when seated with their traveling party or participating in any of our water attractions.
Herkimer County is still in the process of notifying people who have tested positive.
