ALBANY, N.Y. – Former 113th district assemblyman, Anthony J. Casale, has been appointed commissioner of the New York State Board of Elections.
Casale, who currently lives in Cooperstown, was selected to fill a seat left facant by former Commissioner Gregory Peterson of Nassau County, who resigned last year.
He joins co-chairs Peter Kosinski, Douglas Kellner and Andrew Spano on the state BOE.
Throughout his 50-year career, Casale has served nine terms in the New York State Assembly from 1975 to 1995, as well as chairman and chief executive officer of the New York State Liquor Authority.
