A three-run first in game one set the tone for what would be a highly offensive day for Herkimer.

The Generals got home runs in the first game from Brian Forbes (2-for-3, 5 RBI) and Cedric Rose (2-for-4, 4 RBI). Whitesboro grad Matt Parkinson (3-for-3, RBI) and Joseph Novenche (2-for-5, 3 RBI) were the other offensive producers in the 13-3 win.

Proctor grad Chris Godlewski started the first game for Herkimer where he went six innings, giving up six hits, two earned runs, walking five and striking out three to get the victory on the mound.

In the winner take all game two, Finger Lakes got two on the board in the top of the first before heavy rains caused two separate delays that lasted for over an hour.

When the teams came back onto the field, Herkimer's bats picked back up. Down two in the bottom of the third, the Generals scored five runs, two off of big flies in order to take the lead for good.

Novenche (1-for-2, 2 RBI) had a solo shot, while Rose (1-for-3, 2 RBI) and Brandon Kruzinski (2-for-5, 3 RBI) each hit two-run homers in the third to prove to be the difference.

Brendyn Stillman (1-for-4, RBI) added a home run later on in the game while Masaki Furudono got the win on the mound, pitching six innings giving up just three hits, walking two and striking out seven.

Herkimer's Parkinson was named tournament MVP, while Kruzinski and Stillman were named to the All-Tournament team.

With the two wins, the Region III champion Generals now advance to the 2019 NJCAA Division III World Series held in Greeneville, Tennessee beginning on May 25.
