A Herkimer woman is facing felony charges for alleged welfare fraud, according to the Herkimer County Sheriff’s Office.

Debra Moshier, 63, is charged with felony fourth-degree welfare fraud and felony fourth-degree grand larceny.

Deputies say Moshier allegedly received more than $1,500 worth of benefits over a period of time that she wasn’t entitled to receive.

Moshier was processed on the charges and released on an appearance ticket. She’s scheduled to appear in the Village of Herkimer Court at a later date.

The Herkimer County Department of Social Services assisted the Sheriff’s Office’s Welfare Fraud Unit with the investigation.
