PORT LEYDEN, NY--
A high-speed chase with speeds into the triple digits, and spanned several towns along Route 12, came to an end early Monday morning.
For one and a half hours…police agencies in Oneida and Lewis counties worked together to end up apprehending the suspect in the police chase.
Troopers were heading North on Route 12 but could not get the car to pull over. The chase ended up in Port Leyden, yet it is still unclear as to where the chase actually began.
After fleeing his vehicle, the suspect pulled off onto Quarry Street where he then fled on foot. Police dispatched numerous k9s that scoured throughout the village in the area of North Street for the suspect. Again, the suspect is in custody.
Updates will be provided as soon as they become available.
