Matthew Roach, the executive director of Hockey Fights Type 1 Diabetes, joined Newstalk to discuss an upcoming event.
Tonight is the second annual Alion Science and Technology and Hockey Fights T1D night at the Utica College hockey game.
It is to raise awareness and funds to battle Type 1 diabetes.
Utica College takes on rival Neumann University tonight at 7 p.m. at the Adirondack Bank Center.
Before the game begins, the 2020 Utica Pro Experience will take place at 5 p.m.
Local amateur hockey players will receive ice time in the charity game, a custom event name plate and special event t-shirt.
These registered players will also be given a pass to the stage seating area to watch the Pioneers game at 7 p.m.
All of the funds will benefit the fight against Type 1 diabetes.
