Holland Patent, N.Y. - Holland Patent senior goalkeeper Jonathan Tolpa has been recognized for breaking the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) boys soccer single-season save record...in 2019.
It has been determined that while a junior two seasons ago, Tolpa made a total of 216 saves, the most in one single season than any other keeper in state high school history.
During that season, he finished with a .800 save percentage.
Tolpa followed that up by closing out his pandemic-shortened senior season making 86 saves in 11 games, finishing with an .827 save percentage. The Golden Knights finished with an 8-3 record.
This is the second NYSPHSAA record that Tolpa holds, along with the state single-game saves record which he also set in 2019 with 31 in a game against Proctor.
