COOPERSTOWN, NY – A fundraiser has been announced to benefit the ongoing renovation project at historic Doubleday Field.
On February 7-9, the not-for-profit Friends of Doubleday will host a “Hot Stove” event featuring a group of noted baseball aficionados. Speakers include MLB Network’s Brian Kenny, Todd Radom, author and CEO of Radom Design, Tom Shieber, Senior Curator at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, Jay Jaffe, author and Senior Writer for FanGraphs, and author David Roth, previously of Deadspin and Vice Sports.
“We have been looking for unique opportunities to assist the Village in the ongoing preservation of our historic Doubleday Field, and I am pleased today to announce that through the generosity of five of America’s most talented, knowledgeable and affable baseball media personalities, Friends of Doubleday will host a fundraising baseball symposium in Cooperstown where each will present their distinct perspectives on the past, current and future states of baseball,” said Friends of Doubleday President Jeff Katz.
Katz says 100 tickets for the symposium will be sold for $100 each, plus optional dinner at $40 and brunch at $23. Reservations can be made at friendsofdoubleday.org.
