Saturday is "I Love My Park Day” and the state Department of Environmental Conservation is calling all volunteers.
In the morning, head to the Utica Marsh Wildlife Management area on Harbor Lock Road off Genesee Street.
Park in the lot near the Wildlife Management Trailhead from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The Rome Sand Plains Unique area gets kick-started at 9:30 a.m., the cleanup runs until 1 p.m.
Volunteers should park at the DEC parking area on the south side of Hogsback Road.
If you have them – bring garden gloves, a rake, water and snack.
Other cleanups are happening at Delta Lake State Park, Verona Beach State Park, and at Fort Stanwix in Rome.
There's also an intergenerational cleanup in Herkimer County.
People of all ages will be helping out older adults who need help spring cleaning their lawns
Volunteers should meet at the East Herkimer Fire Department at 9 a.m. Saturday.
They will be working in Little Falls, Herkimer, Mohawk, Ilion and Frankfort.
