Following a few days of warm temperatures, ice jams are returning to the town of Danube in Herkimer County.
Town workers are hard at work filling Canal Lock Road with gravel after flooding on Thursday night. Parts of the road have been washed away, and as a result the road is closed for the time being.

A local resident of 55 years says this has become an annual problem.
“I want that creek cleaned out so that we don't have this problem every year,” said Danube resident Samone Oakley. “I'm ready to give my home up because of it.”
The state Department of Homeland Security says they will be out Friday night to break up the ice jams.
