LITTLE FALLS, N.Y.-- Residents in Little Falls are concerned about the flooding that could stem from ice jams building up in Indian Creek.
On Tuesday night, residents living on Canal Lock Road were confronted with a foot of water covering the roadway and threatening to flood their homes.
Locals say the problem stems from Thruway bridge and bike path running over the creek.
"The thruway bridge runs over the creek and underneath that isn't cleaned out that great," Tonya Shaut, a Little Falls resident said. "They cleaned out the rest of it in 2013 when the big flood was, but it gets jammed under the bridge, all the ice and it has no where to go."
Little Falls officials were on the scene, attempting to clear the roads. Officials with the Oneida County 911 Center caution drivers not to drive on a road with more than a few inches of water covering the surface.
