ILION, NY – The village of Ilion turned out Saturday to show their appreciation and say thank you to the men and women who put their lives on the line on a daily basis.
The 6th Annual Veterans and First Responders Appreciation Picnic was held at the Ilion’s Fireman Field on Pleasant Avenue.
The free event featured plenty of food, music, and fun.
There was even a wall of honor display honoring fallen New York State Troopers.
Daniel J. Enea helped organize the event.
“The best part of it is seeing the Veterans from the local nursing homes coming off the busses and vans and just having a great day.”
Leftovers from the picnic did not go to waste.
They were distributed to local first responder agencies.
