ORISKANY, N.Y. – An inmate at Oneida County Correctional Facility is now facing an assault charge after allegedly hitting another inmate in the face.
According to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol, an inmate had to get stitches inside his mouth after 24-year-old Deronn Pool of Utica punched him in the face on Feb. 21.
Pool was charged with second-degree assault after the incident. He was arraigned and remanded back to the jail.
A felony hearing will be held for Pool at a later date.
