LITTLE FALLS, NY (WKTV) A trendy new brewery has opened in Little Falls. While many businesses during the pandemic have had to reassess and make changes, this business was preparing to open.
Nestled beneath the Route 167 bridge next to the Mohawk River is Ironrock Brewery.
It was once a fully operational lumber yard.
Mike George, the owner of Ironrock Brewery had the vision to create it after his friend introduced him to the property.
"This first time I came in here I just saw a huge potential," George said. "Even though it was disaster inside, I saw something in the place that I couldn't let go."
After four years of construction, his ideas brewed (get it?) into what you see inside the brewery today.
Like many during the pandemic, Mike didn't expect Covid-19 to change our way of life as drastically as it did, but he didn't let that stop him.
He ended up opening back up in September.
"I was full steam ahead, I was ready to go," he said. "My wife was a little hesitant understandably just because of the conditions."
Mike and his staff brew their own beer and he says they have high hopes for 2021.
"People are starting to get out again," he said. We're very excited for the 2021 season. We're trying to put together some tentative dates for some bands and we're really excited for what the upcoming year has to offer."
