UTICA, N.Y. – The case of Naythen Aubain has been adjourned to Jan. 29 after the defense requested more time to complete a psychiatric evaluation.
Aubain is accused of killing his grandmother and 87-year-old landlord, Jane Wentka.
Attorney for the defense, Adam Tyksinski, says they are still awaiting full psychiatric reports and reviewing information they’ve received thus far.
“We put in a lot of work, and we believe the report itself is getting completed, we’re just requesting from the court a little more time to put it all together and clean it all up, before we hand it over to the court and the district attorney's office,” said Tyksinski.
Aubain pled not guilty to first-degree murder and attempted murder charges in March.
