OSWEGO, N.Y. – Court proceedings are still ongoing in the race for the 22nd Congressional District seat, as the judge continues to review contested ballots.
On Thursday, Oswego County Supreme Court Judge Scott DelConte examined more than 400 challenged ballots from Oneida County.
Several of the disputed ballots were cast by voters who registered to vote through the Department of Motor Vehicles, but say when they went to the polls on Election Day, they weren’t on the list.
Incumbent Anthony Brindisi thinks those votes should count, while his opponent, Republican Claudia Tenney, thinks they shouldn’t.
As of the last unofficial tally, Tenney was leading Brindisi by 29 votes.
DelConte has not yet ruled on the contested ballots.
