COOPERSTOWN- On Sunday, hundreds gathered outside the Otsego County Courthouse for a peaceful rally.
It was a Justice for George Floyd rally, and part of the Black Lives Movement happening across the country.
Organizers told NEWSChannel 2 over 600 people signed up.
Speakers talked about their personal experience with racism and called on lawmakers to make a change."I think this shows that Cooperstown is not going to be quiet," said Torrey Carrascoso, who organized the event. "Even if Cooperstown is a safe community, outside of our community is not always safe and even inside of our community is not always safe, and America and Cooperstown need to wake up." Carrascoso added she's trying to show America they are with them.
