ROME- The Capitol Cinema in Rome kicked off mid-winter break with a Kids Fest.

The event was for children and families. There was trivia, and the Utica Zoo-Mobile was on hand with some of their animals.

Weekend Sports Anchor Chelsea Sherrod and former Weekend Meteorologist Samantha Wessing showed families what it's like to be on television.

"Allowing kids to see themselves on TV is great because it's fun and it's also informative and it's a day off. It's the start of mid-winter recess here so we didn't want it to be a super hyper thing," said Jon Matwijec- Walda, the Assistant Executive Director for Capital Arts.

Kids Fest is part of the Capitol Arts Complex Black History Month 2020 program.
