UTICA, N.Y. -- Kids Oneida is now ICAN – and the change comes with the motto of "keeping families together."
The vision and mission remain the same – empowering individuals and families.
Kids Oneida started in 1997 with fewer than 10 employees. Now the nonprofit employs a team of more than 350 people and serves more than six counties.
ICAN stands for Integrated Community Alternatives Network.
“It's been a few years in the making but Kids Oneida has been in existence for over 20 years and we've really outgrown that name. we're no longer kids and we are no longer just Oneida County as we serve families prenatally all the way to end-of-life and we serve six counties,” said Steven Bulger, the executive director.
Services offered span from peer support, adult care management, children's care management to juvenile justice programs.
