CLINTON- The holiday of rest for the working class people wiped its way across the U.S. on Monday, Labor Day. People of Clinton, New York spent their day of rest around Utica Coffee Roasting Co. in the heart of Clinton.
Dogs, runners, and simply people were enjoying this beautiful Labor Day on the Village Green in the center of Clinton.
“Well [Labor Day] means a lot to me because I was in construction for 40 years,” said Andy Anguish, 80, of Utica.
This hardworking retired laborer spent his Labor Day morning with his wife Rosemary and dog Chico. While soaking up the morning sun, Anguish and his wife reflected upon what Labor Day really means to them.
“You reflect back on everything you watch your children and their accomplishment and you're proud,” said Anguish. “[Labor Day] goes unnoticed people don't stop and think about what today is all about it's a day for workers.”
Some people who were out in the Village Monday weren’t necessarily soaking up the time off, they were making sure they got their activity in.
“Well I just got done running five miles and having a nice coffee with my friend,” said Colleen Lamb, a visitor of Clinton.
