A low pressure system has been stuck just to our east for the past
couple days bringing an easterly flow with moisture from the Atlantic and
mild temperatures. Today is the last day of this mild weather. The jet stream
slides very far northward, bringing lots of warm and humid air up from the
south starting Thursday. This will bump up our temperatures quickly
Wednesday, with this low pressure system present we will have partly sunny
skies with scattered thunderstorms throughout the afternoon and evening. The
cloud cover and rain will help to keep us mild with highs only in the upper
Thursday, this low pressure system gets pushed out of the region. That warm
air mass slides in and our temperatures heat up. We will also have mostly
sunny skies which will help our temperatures warm up. Highs will be in the
upper 80s to near 90 degrees. This is 10 degrees warmer than Wednesday!
Friday, Saturday and Sunday this warm air mass stays over us with highs in
the mid to upper 80s all weekend.
The warm air even looks to stick around into next week. Monday and Tuesday,
highs could reach 90 degrees.
