LEE, N.Y. – A Lee man was pinned under a tree in the woods off of Quaker Hill Road on Wednesday, after the tree rolled onto his legs during a logging accident.
According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, 65-year-old Robert Pfendler lost his balance after cutting the tree down, and fell to the ground. The tree then rolled onto his legs, leaving him stuck underneath.
Pfendler was able to call 911 on his cell phone, and authorities were sent to assist around 2:45 p.m.
The Lee Center Fire and Westernville fire departments responded to the scene first, and were able to get the tree off of his legs.
Pfendler was taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries.
