Bands of heavy snow have moved out of Central New York this morning, with light snow continuing to move in from the east. Light snow tapers off this afternoon before lake enhanced snow develops. Besides the snow, the wind is going to pick up throughout the morning and afternoon, with wind speeds of 10-20mph, gusts up to 30mph. This could create blowing and drifting snow as well as whiteout conditions on any open roads.
Lake enhanced snow develops this evening into tonight south of the Mohawk Valley, into Madison, Northern Otsego and Northern Chenango Counties. The snow continues in these locations tonight, tapering off Wednesday morning. Here is a look at additional snowfall through Wednesday at 7AM:
