Little Falls—The Little Falls Girls Soccer Team, have already had a great season. They have wracked up a total of nineteen victories with only two losses. Now their hard work has paid off, they are headed to the State Championships in Cortland.
“We don’t get the opportunity to go to states that often. I went there my sophomore year and to go again is just incredible.” Said Soccer player Emma Rasch.
The school district and the community came together to send off the soccer team. Before boarding the buses, the team made their way through the school. The entire school lined the hallway wishing them luck. Students held signs and cheered as they passed by.
“We have such a great support system here at little falls, I’m lucky to be doing it with my best friends and to be going back.” Said Soccer Player Makenna Peruzzi
After leaving the high school, the local police department escorted them across town to Benton Hall Academy where the students were greeted by former teachers and younger students.
When asked why the district wanted to send the students off in such a high-profile fashion, Superintendent Keith Levatino responded, “They deserve it, all of our students deserve to be recognized and acknowledged. Whether its academics arts athletics music, and so forth and this Is just one way of acknowledging their efforts.”
Little Falls is set to take on Wheatland Chi-Li High School at the State Championships in Cortland.
