LITTLE FALLS N.Y.- There's a new way to buy local in the City of Little Falls in 2020.
Every Thursday from 4 p.m to 7 p.m. at Burke Park, Local Fresh Thursdays is taking place.
Local Fresh Thursdays is a seasonal, hyper-local, open air food market, and a program of the YMCA Community Co-Op of Little Falls.
There were five vendors on hand for the first night.
The idea was a way to cultivate relationships around fresh, local produce, and other goods that contribute to the overall health of Little Falls.
“We wanted to bring the community together. And really have it surrounded by food, local artisans, local producers, local artists, local shops." said Jovanna Mueller, the Farmer's Market Manager with Local Fresh Thursdays. "We want to build the relationship between growers, and the community as a whole. We want something to have people to look forward to on a Thursday night, something that we hadn’t really done before here in Little Falls.” Mueller added.
Local Fresh Thursdays will run every Thursday at Burke Park on the corner of Ann and Gansevoort streets through October 1st from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Mueller encourages local producers or farmers to connect with Local Fresh Thursdays. To reach out email LocalFreshThursdays@gmail.com
