Local athletes sign National Letters of Intent to play in college

Multiple local student-athletes sign National Letters of Intent to play sports in college.

Utica, N.Y. - Signing Day, Wednesday, marked the first day NCAA Division I colleges are allowed to offer high school student-athletes National Letters of Intent to participate in a sport at their school.

We had multiple local athletes sign Letters of Intent, Wednesday, to play at the next level. They are listed below:

Haylee Smith (Whitesboro) - St. Bonaventure - women's soccer
Avery Cook (Whitesboro) - St. John's - baseball
Liam Ronan (New Hartford) - Stony Brook - men's lacrosse
Natalie Burns (New Hartford) - UAlbany - women's soccer
Abby Buchholz (New Hartford) - UNC Greensboro - women's soccer
Nick Buchholz (New Hartford) - Appalachain St. - men's soccer
Mercedes Currie (Camden) - Hofstra University - women's field hockey
Olivia Wightman (Clinton) - University of Hartford - women's lacrosse
Sarah Owens (Clinton) - St. Bonaventure - women's lacrosse
