10-year-old McKenzie Fuller of Utica thought she was dropping the ceremonial puck at Saturday night's Utica College men's hockey game as a Make-A-Wish ambassador, but little did she know she was about to be surprised with a trip of a lifetime.
McKenzie is one tough cookie. She has been battling Ewing's sarcoma, a very aggressive bone cancer and has gone through over a year of chemo.
Saturday night the Make-A-Wish of central New York surprised McKenzie by telling her that her wish will soon come true!
McKenzie described the moment she learned she was going to Hawaii as "weird but exciting."
"After a year and a half of very aggressive treatments for her cancer, she's been through what most people ever have to experience so to know that we have time to just spend as a family together and to see her smile and to have a good time is priceless," said her mom Misty.
Misty also said McKenzie is now cancer free!
